Mohan Duwal Receives the Prestigious Dasharath Chand Memorial Award

Kathmandu- Mohan Duwal, the esteemed chief editor of the monthly literary magazine Janamat, has been honored with this year's Dasharath Chand Memorial Award. The award ceremony took place in Bharatpur on the occasion of Martyr's Day, where Duwal was presented with the prestigious accolade.

The Dasharath Chand Memorial Award was established by the renowned literary figure Professor Anandadev Bhatta and Sushila Bhatta, and it is recognized as a significant recognition in the literary community. The award was presented by 'Hamro Sirjana,' a research-oriented literary magazine published quarterly in Chitwan.

During the event, the chief guest, Narayan Prasad Adhikari, the chairperson of the District Coordination Committee, graced the occasion with his presence. Prof. Kapil Agyath, a prominent figure in the literary world, shed light on Mohan Duwal's remarkable contributions to literature. He emphasized Duwal's role as a literary servant and Sheromani, praising his dedication and commitment.

One of Duwal's notable literary contributions that led to his selection for the award was the serial publication of martyr Shukraraj Shastri's work titled 'Swargako Darbar' for the public. This publication played a significant role in bringing the work back into the public's awareness after its initial release in 1986. Duwal's efforts in recognizing the importance of Shastri's work and republishing it in book form in 2066 BS were highly appreciated.

The Dasharath Chand Memorial Award serves as a testament to Mohan Duwal's outstanding literary achievements and his continuous dedication to the field. It is a well-deserved recognition of his contributions to the literary landscape of Nepal.
