"Celebrating Literary Excellence: Samthing Foundation Honors Four Distinguished Litterateurs"

Kathmandu- In a grand ceremony that paid tribute to the realm of art and literature, the prestigious Samthing Foundation bestowed accolades upon four eminent litterateurs, accompanied by generous cash prizes.

The foundation presented the esteemed Samathing Literary Award to the illustrious Mohan Duwal and Prof. Dr. Govindaraj Bhattarai for their remarkable contributions to the literary world. Additionally, litterateurs Mina Rai and Shanta Gautam were honored with the esteemed Samthing Shrastha Samman.

Distinguished author and former Home Minister, Dipak Prakash Banskota, graced the occasion and personally handed over a cash prize of 55,555 rupees each to Dr. Bhattarai and Duwal, in recognition of their outstanding literary achievements.

Similarly, Rai and Gautam were presented with a cash prize of NPR 5,555 each, along with the esteemed Samthing Srasta Samman.

The Samthing Foundation has been bestowing the Samthing Srasta Award and the Samathing Literary Award biennially, serving as a testament to the organization's commitment to promoting literary excellence.

However, due to the potential risks posed by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2078, the award distribution was postponed. Previously, the foundation had successfully conducted award ceremonies in 2078 and 2080, where honors were bestowed upon deserving recipients.

The award ceremony not only celebrated the achievements of these outstanding litterateurs but also featured captivating poetry recitations, adding a touch of artistic charm to the event.

It is worth mentioning that the Samthing Foundation was established by the late litterateur Tallinn Samthing, who, during his lifetime, authored an impressive collection of 55 literary works. Two of his works were published posthumously.

The foundation, which was established by Samthang himself, stands as a testament to his enduring legacy and unwavering dedication to the world of literature.

As we honor these exceptional litterateurs, their contributions continue to inspire and enrich the world of art and literature, fostering a vibrant cultural landscape for generations to come.
