"Empowering Artistic Expression: Exploring the Feminine Essence through 'Shakti: Fair & Fierce' at NGMA, Delhi"

New Delhi-  In a celebration of artistic brilliance and feminine empowerment, the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) in Delhi is currently hosting a captivating exhibition entitled "Shakti: Fair & Fierce."

This extraordinary showcase brings together the works of 55 contemporary women artists, offering a powerful exploration of the divine feminine energy through various creative lenses.

Curated in collaboration with the Museum of Sacred Art, Belgium, "Shakti: Fair & Fierce" delves into the concept of Shakti, a force that embodies the divine feminine principle and serves as the wellspring of creation, sustenance, and transformation.

Through over 100 multi-layered artworks, the exhibition presents the unique interpretations and perspectives of these talented artists, highlighting the diverse experiences of womanhood.

The collection encompasses a rich tapestry of artistic mediums, including paintings, sculptures, photographs, digital media, and intricate embroideries.

Esteemed artists such as Madhvi Parekh, Jayasri Burman, and Arpana Caur share their masterful works alongside emerging talents like Keerti Pooja and Sonal Varshneya.

The exhibition also features the captivating photography of Saadiya Kochar and the thought-provoking digital media experiments of artists Charuvi Agrawal and Richa Navani. Divided into three distinct sections, the exhibition offers a multifaceted exploration of the theme.

Saadiya Kochar's photographic series, inspired by Kaifi Azmi's poem 'Aurat' (woman), takes viewers on a poignant journey through the lives of Kashmiri women who face conflict with resilience and strength. Their daily lives are captured through Kochar's lens, revealing their unwavering determination.

Adding another layer of cultural richness are intricately detailed embroidery works by local artists, which infuse the exhibition with a sense of mythology and spirituality.

Jayasri Burman's watercolor painting depicts Shri Krishna atop the naga (venomous snake), symbolizing his act of saving humanity from its deadly bite.

Shanthamani Muddaiah's charcoal installations offer a unique perspective on the feminine within the realm of myths and spirituality. Each piece contributes to the exhibition's powerful testament to the diverse voices and visions of women artists.

The exhibition, held at the National Gallery of Modern Arts in Jaipur House, India Gate Hexagon, New Delhi, will continue to inspire and captivate visitors until March 31.
