Maoist MP Magar Urges No Action Against Nirmal Purja

MP Suresh Kumar Ale Magar of the CPN (Maoist Center) has requested that no action be taken against climber Nirmal Purja, who has been accused of sexual misconduct.

Speaking at the National Assembly meeting on Thursday, he mentioned that the climber, Magar, has set world records and brought global recognition to Nepal, and thus should face only minimal action. "Nirmal Purja Magar is an individual who has set numerous world records in mountaineering. He set a world record by climbing all 14 peaks over 8,000 meters in just 7 months," he said during the meeting. "Such an individual is now facing action. Any action against him should be immediately halted."

He also expressed his strong condemnation of taking action against Nirmal Purja. He mentioned that there are talks of banning Nirmal Purja Magar from mountaineering and asserted that such a ban should not be imposed.
