Sudurpaschim Govt announces compensation for Tumeda landslide victims

Kailali- The Sudurpaschim Province Government has declared to provide Rs 100,000 per person to the families losing their lives to a landslide of Tumeda village in Bajhang district. Issuing a press statement today, Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province Kamal Bahadur Shah made the announcement to provide the amount to the landslide survivors in compensation.

It may be noted that four members of a single family of Bir Bahadur Dhami were killed in a landslide triggered by incessant rainfall at Tumeda village of Bungal Municipality at midnight on August 18. The deceased were Dhami's spouse Kali Dhami, 55, daughter-in-law Golki Dhami, 25, granddaughter Akriti Dhami, 6, and 3-year-old daughter-in-law Laxmi Dhami. Expressing condolences to the bereaved family, CM Shah extended wishes for the speedy recovery of injured Bir Bahadur. The CM also instructed concerned authority for immediate rescue and relief operation, according to the press statement.
