"Farewell for Chief of Army Staff Sharma at Army HQ"

Kathmandu- Chief of the Nepal Army, General Prabhu Ram Sharma, is set to retire on the 24th of Bhadra, following a mandatory retirement. He is retiring after nearly 42 years of uninterrupted military service and successfully completing a three-year tenure as the Chief of Army Staff

.A farewell program was organized in his honor on Wednesday at the Army Headquarters, in a special ceremony. During the event, Defense Secretary Rameshwar Dangal stated that General Sharma's contributions to the institutional strengthening, modernization, and enhancement of the professional capabilities of the Nepal Army would remain memorable for a long time.

Additionally, he expressed his admiration for General Sharma's intellectual personality, strategic acumen, and leadership skills. In his remarks, Secretary Dangal also extended his congratulations to Acting Chief of Army Staff Ashok Raj Sigdel, who is set to assume the new role. He pledged his utmost support in further strengthening the cordial relationship between the Ministry of Defense and the Nepal Army, making it more result-oriented in the days to come.

Acting Chief of Army Staff Sigdel expressed his deep admiration for General Sharma's balanced life, composed demeanor, and ability to handle complex situations with an objective approach. He stated that the steadfastness and dedication exhibited by General Sharma in elevating the reputation and prestige of the Nepal Army would forever be remembered in the history of the institution.
