Coordination among three-tier governments stressed for mitigating climate change effects

Shivapuri- Bagmati Province Chief Minister Bahadur Singh Lama said the three-tier of the governments should assure budget and establish coordination for minimizing negative effects of climate change. At an interaction 'Strategy to Mitigate the Effects of Climate Change', organised by the Editors' Society Nepal, at the Govinda Biyogi Journalism Study Centre, Shivapuri-7, Suryachaur, Nuwakot today, Chief Minister Tamang pledged to work together for the protection of environment, human and wildlife.

Responding to queries from journalists, he said electricity would also be generated from the Nagmati dam and stressed the need to carry out a study on its impacts on human settlements. On the occasion, Shivapuri Rural Municipality Chair Govinda Prasad Thapaliya shared that the rural municipality has been organizing several programmes such as publicity, festivals and home stay training to increase the income of the local people by increasing domestic tourism in Shivpuri.
